What is fencing?
In a fencing match, you and an opponent stand apart and score by striking with either the tip or the edge of the blade, depending on the weapon. In general, the goal of training is to teach one how to hit and not get hit during a fencing match.
Modern sport fencing has 3 weapons to choose from: the foil, epee, and the sabre. The videos below give an explanation as to each weapon's rules and style of play.

Fencing matches
A bout is fenced to either 5 touches or 15 touches, depending on the format of the event.
Our club aims to train and prepare its members for advancing their bouting skillset by learning footwork, blade techniques, and strategy.

Each weapon has its own unique style of play. It's not uncommon to fence 2 or even all 3 weapons, but we recommend to start with one to specialize with it.
